Never has it been so easy for us to get from A to B quickly, efficiently and cheaply! Since air travel became so popular in the seventies with the advent of package holidays to places such as Benidorm and Marbella, it has become easier for us to explore the four corners of the earth.
Since the recession started, the travel agents and package holiday companies have been falling over themselves for our business and prices are at their lowest, despite the weak exchange rate.
We can now also fly to many destinations cheaper than we might pay for a shirt or a pair of shoes since the low-cost airlines started up. Whether it is a city break or a home in the sun there are low cost options to many destinations, especially as the major airlines have also had to reduce prices.
Rail travel too has become more efficient, especially since the launch of the Euro Star. You can get on a train in London and be in Paris just a couple of hours later. This has also had the knock on effect of increasing the competition between the ferry companies.
Whether you are planning to fly, take the train or a ferry, the options are incredible, and the world really is a smaller place than it was just a few short decades ago.
